Willing

When Bill Moyers interviewed Joseph Campbell in the late 1980s, Campbell said, "We must give up the life we've planned to have the life that's waiting for us." Somewhere along the way, my motto for life became: I'm willing to be surprised. "Willing" is the key word. As I get older I see how easy it would be to close instead of open. But that's not what I came here for. I came here to see just how wide my heart can open. So I'm going to open my heart here. It may not be pretty. But I'll try to make it true.
